Social Services
The Gardens of Richardson provides a full time Social Worker to assist residents and families acclimate to:
- The facility
- Recent illness
- Changes in family roles
The Social Worker provides ongoing support to ensure the residents’ emotional wellbeing.
- Psychology services provide counseling to our residents to assist with emotional issues related to depression, grief, changes in living arrangements, changes in physical status, and other issues.
- Psychiatrists can counsel residents and also prescribe medications to decrease anxiety or depression.“Our social service department is here to help promote our residents wellbeing.”
The Social Work Department also facilitates Support Groups for family members of residents. They also help facilitate our very active Family Council. In addition the Social Worker assists with discharge planning & referrals to other support networks and resources available in the community.
